Tevez: We'll Show Them Why We're Champions

Carlos Tevez has come out with some fighting words ahead of Manchester United's trip to face title rivals Chelsea on Sunday.

The Red Devils have recorded just four points out of a possible nine thus far in the Premier League, with just one win from their opening six matches overall. To make matters worse, Chelsea are already firing on all cylinders and are going to be the team to beat in England on early evidence.

"OK, so we have not started as well as we would have liked, but that will all change this Sunday," Tevez told the Daily Star.

"At Stamford Bridge the real champions will be on show. We all know that Chelsea are out for revenge for what happened in Moscow, but that will cause some anxiety for them.

Should Chelsea get the better of the reigning champions on Sunday, like Liverpool did last weekend, then the Stamford Bridge side will stretch their lead over United to nine points, and the Red Devils will be languishing in the lower reaches of the bottom half of the table. The Argentine striker is having none of it though.

"They will see a reaction from United this weekend. We are not champions for nothing. The match in London is important, but it is not decisive. The winner will receive a huge boost, but that will be it."

United have an ace up his sleeve in the form of fit-again Ronaldo, who played his first game of the season against Villarreal on Wednesday. And Tevez believes the Portuguese winger will prove his worth with a stand-out performance against the Pensioners.

"The return of Ronaldo is crucial for us and is a problem for Chelsea," Tevez added. "The Blues defence will need to take so much care with him that he creates space for everybody else.

"He gives us so much more power in attack. If Chelsea already think they are on their way to winning the title, they are mistaken."
