India U-16 team hold Manchester United 3-3

The India under-16 side bounced back from their 1-2 defeat to Everton to hold Manchester United 3-3 on Tuesday night.

Malswamfela opened the scoring for India in the fifth minute. The hosts pumped in two goals soon after before Malswamfela added his second of the night in the 53rd.

The Indian juniors were not overawed by the situation despite facing one of the best youth sides in the world.

Manchester United colts went ahead a second time after converting a penalty but India were not to be outdone.

Narayana Menon's wards braved heavy underfoot conditions due to overnight rains and managed to draw parity following some sustained pressure.

Lalrindika found the equaliser in the 70th minute from a goalmouth melee.

The India under-16 team, which has qualified for the AFC under-16 Championship in Uzbekistan, was on a nine-day trip to England for a preparatory camp.

Speaking to AIFF.com coach Menon expressed satisfaction with his boys' performance and felt playing in European conditions against tough opponents has helped the team gain a lot of experience ahead of the AFC Championship.
