Cristiano Ronaldo Says He Took Ferguson's Criticism On Board

The World Player of the Year exemplified how to take criticism in stride.

Manchester United's Portuguese phenomenon Cristiano Ronaldo says that he accepted Sir Alex Ferguson's recent criticism of him.

Earlier this week the Red Devils boss revealed to News of the World that he had spoken to the 24-year-old about his on-field petulance and insisted he will not accept such behavior. Ronaldo, in turn, responded by booking United's place in the final-four of the Champions League with an absolutely sensational long-range strike away to Porto.

"It is not a problem," Ronaldo was quoted as saying on Sky Sports News.

"I always respect the manager and coaches because I want to learn. If he says that, it is because he thinks it is true.

"But I think I have been playing well and I have scored a few important goals," he added with his trademark cheeky grin.

United's number 7 went on to underline that Wednesday's victory at Oporto has kept their dreams of the quintuple alive.

"We have an opportunity to win everything and we are very confident that we can," he added.

"We did not play fantastic in the last five or six games but we expect the next ones will be better because of what we did last night."
