Van Der Sar Returns to the international fold


Edwin Van Der Sar is to come out of international retirement to after being persuaded by the Dutch FA - the KNVB.

Van Der Sar last played for Holland in the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Russia in Euro 2008. Holland were widely praised for their wonderful counter attacking football against the likes of Italy and France in the group stages - but will ultimately defeated by a Arshavin led Russia.

Current Dutch number one, Maarten Stekelenburg, has a shoulder injury which is why Bert van Marwijk has called upon the legendary Dutch goalkeeper - who has won to date 128 caps.

Other United players to be called up to their national sides are Nani and Ronaldo (both Portugal), Manucho (Angola), Brown Rooney and Ferdinand (all England), Park (Korea Republic).
